As promised, I am back and ready to share Part II of our modern farmhouse remodel! In case you missed it, here is where I shared the kitchen, dining room and living room designs — 3 separate spaces within the family’s brand-new open concept floor plan.
Today, we’ll look at the family room, four bedrooms, and two bathrooms.
Quick Recap of Project Goals:
-
Create spaces to accommodate family time and entertaining
-
Incorporate several additional sleeping options for children and guests
-
Tailor the design to a clean, modern farmhouse look
-
Layer in some fun color!
Are you ready??
Family Room
Colorful yet soft and soothing + plenty of space for activities = a happy family room.
Floor to ceiling drapery helps this room feel taller and more spacious. In the winter, this fireplace will make this room the most popular one in the house!
Character, style, comfort.
Bedroom #1: For the Ladies
Before:
On the job… we love what we do!
After:
We infused modern farmhouse style with pastel hues (and these beautiful custom Roman shades) for a vibe that’s soothing, feminine, and oh so fresh. Bunk beds help maximize the sleeping capacity in the home, too. Another check on the goals list!
Rustic wood furniture fits perfectly with these modern wall sconces from Hudson Valley Lighting. And would you look at that rug!
Ahhh….
Bedroom #2: For the Boys
This bedroom has a more masculine vibe and another two beds for family, guests, and vacationers. I especially love how the pattern on these custom Roman shades mimics the bed frames’ geometry.
Another modern sconce from Hudson Valley Lighting — love their versatile options!
And yet another rug to sink our happy toes into. 😉
Bedroom #3: For the Nature Lover
With a tall headboard and thick bed frame, this bedroom has a woodsier, more natural vibe to it but is just as fresh and breathable.
More modern lighting from Hudson Valley Lighting.
And a rug for the soul.
Bedroom #4: For the Young at Heart
The fourth bedroom is the most sunny and colorful in the home. We added another custom Roman shade in this space, and picked a pattern and color that would bring joy into the space.
Couldn’t leave this room out! You get a rug, you get a rug, and you get a rug. 😉
Master Bathroom
For the master bathroom, we decided that airy and spa-like was the way to go. After all, this bathroom belongs in a second home and vacation rental — it should bring all the peace and wellbeing that comes with a home away from home!
We reconfigured the floor plan to add a bit more space, then brought some beautiful stone onto the scene…
There is so much to love about this space, such as the LG Clarino counter on this custom vanity we designed! Not to mention the subtle beauty of the sconce, the breezy vibe of the custom-designed Roman shade, and even the warmth of rich wood tones and brass hardware!
The tile flooring one of my favorite features in this bathroom. Zoom in and you’ll see their honeycomb shape! The glass doors of the shower help this space feel larger and more open, too.
Bathroom #2: Another Great Escape
A bright white palette keeps this bathroom open and inviting. Like the rest of the home, touches of color add a fresh, uplifting note!
Whew! And that’s a wrap, my friend!! Can you believe how much went into remodeling and redesigning this home? It’s so much more than picking pretty pillows! 😉
We know that this family — not to mention the home’s other lucky future vacationers — will feel a sense of togetherness here (thanks, open concept), peace, and have the time of their lives!
So how about you? What do you dream of for your home? And is there any way we can help? If so, let’s talk!
Stylishly Yours,
Jennifer
