March brings spring, and with spring we love to change things up and freshen up our spaces. So, Spring Has Sprung, let’s look at 5 Easy Ways to Refresh your home for Spring! There are simple ways to approach your home as outside begins to blossom and grow. Stop and look at how you can add spring color, accents, window treatments, artwork and of course floral patterns to your home.
To begin, pick a spring color that makes you happy. It can be violet, pink, sky blue, soft greens…your choices can go on and on. Currently, in my home, I have a lot of blues. So, to change up that color, I’ll accent it with shades of pink. Yes, I am also being trendy…these shades are the Pantone colors of the year. Score!
Now that I chose a color, I need to look throughout my home and find two things to change to my new color palette. What do I mean? I can change window treatments, chairs, rugs, light fixtures, room decor, organizational furniture. (Who doesn’t love to organize in the spring?!)
This exudes a spring feel….coffee, flowers, book and the sunshine!
This is your time to make your space fresh again. Add a new coat of paint to match your spring palette and this room has had a quick makeover for spring. Now sit back and enjoy that cup of tea and revel in your changes!
Easy accents are a quick and fun way to give a space a quick makeover. Think of the things outside that make you dream about spring. Flowers, grass, sun, books and birds all pop into my head. You can create an accent using these imagery in your head. For instance, when I walk through Home Goods, I see adorable bird baths and bird cages.
Why not create a table top centerpiece using one of these items.
Artwork is another quick accent to add to any space for spring. You can add artwork with floral patterns, green grass or birds to your home to bring the spring feeling indoors.
Mantels are focal points in a room. Adding spring elements to your mantel decor will keep you smiling as spring blooms in your home. You can add pussy willows, flowers (real or silk) and decor pieces in your color palette from tip #1.
Last, your entryway is the first thing a guest sees at your house. I love changing my entryway for each season. This can be outside your front door or as you enter your home. There are so many ways to make your guest feel as they are surrounded by spring in your home.
