There’s something magical about watching a home evolve. This is especially true when a small kitchen transformation turns a dated space into one that feels bright and functional. This month, we’re taking you behind the scenes of one of our recent kitchen projects, where thoughtful planning and smart architectural adjustments brought new life to this space.
Before: A Tight, Dated Kitchen With Untapped Potential
When we first stepped into this kitchen, it told a familiar story: low storage, tight traffic flow, dark surfaces, and limited prep space. Our client loved their home but desperately wanted their kitchen to feel: more open, more inviting, and more usable for everyday living. They didn’t just want pretty, they needed function and breathing room.
Setting the Vision
From the start, our goal was clear and exciting. We needed to create a kitchen that feels bigger without increasing its footprint. To do that, we honed in on visual openness, strategic storage, and the perception of height and light.
Ultimately, achieving this meant more than surface upgrades; rather, it required a reimagining of how the space functioned. We took a bold approach with a full gut, removing dated cabinetry, fixtures, appliances, and unnecessary wall obstructions to reset the canvas.

With just paint and flooring left to wrap up, what was once a cramped space now feels expansive.
