As an interior designer, we embark on our journey often times alone. We use our creativity to design amazing spaces and homes. We diligently work on the back end of our businesses with accounting, marketing, networking and processes.
Often times, designers in the industry for many decades talk about how there was an intense sense of competition among other designers. Entering into the design world later in my life, I discovered the opposite. At first, I felt alone, but quickly found groups to be able to discuss, share and collaborate with to strengthen my business. As our discussions and collaboration grew bigger, we created The Designer CO-OP. In our group we have daily/weekly ongoing discussions about design, business and personal matters. What is most beneficial are our outlined, strategic monthly meetings that keep us focused, determined and diligent in our businesses. Staying accountable makes each of us successful!
